Butter had puppies last night!  It was so exciting.  She had 9 beautiful black and chocolate lab puppies.   What an incredible experience.  Helping her deliver these babies was simply magical.   Watching them take their first breath of life and wondering what incredible lives they have ahead of them.  If they become anything like their mother, Butter- these will be amazing dogs.

It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet and already you can see the personalities beginning to develop.  We already named a cute black lab puppy – his name is Harley.   I wonder in 2 months when these pups are ready to go to their new homes, what they will be actually named.

A little funny humor, we purchased 9 large “It’s a Boy!” and “It’s a Girl!” balloons tonight.  When I went to the cashier to check out, the young cashier said… “I know what these are for.”  I asked what.  She said “a reveal party”.  I said, “no actually, she had 9 babies.  Can you believe that?’    She replied, “what, I never heard of such a thing”.  I know and I explained.  “She was in labor for almost 36 hours.  Want to see a picture of the babies?”  She said yes, and I pulled out my smartphone and showed her a photo of Butter and her nine puppies.  Lot’s of laughter followed.

The balloons will go out in front of our house tomorrow morning announcing to the world the birth of these new puppies!
